Using Digital Hotcakes Overlays in ProShow Producer

This tutorial will show you how to use the new updated Digital Hotcakes. You no longer have to use the chroma-key effect to use the overlay animations found on Digital Hotcakes. We now provide the black and white movie masks to get a pristine key everytime.

Important: You will be combining the new mask file with existing file with the same name found on your Digital Hotcakes DVD.

1. Drag Feature.avi from Home Movie Essentials Vol 1 (or your photo or video) to a slide in the timeline.

2. Right-mouse click on the slide to bring up Slide Options. We’re going to add the StageRedOpen.mov from Home Movie Essentials Vol 1 to the slide as an overlay.

3. To add, click on Green Plus sign. Navigate to your folder that contains StageRedOpen.mov.

4. Now, let’s add the mask video file. Navigate to your folder that contains StageRedOpenMask.mov. Your layers should be in the order shown below.

5. Select the StageRedOpenMask layer. Put a check mark in the This layer is a mask box. See red arrow below.

6. Finally, you’ll want to set the slide length to the length of the Feature.avi movie. Select this layer. Then click on the Set Slide Time to Video Length button. See image above.
