Free tutorial for compositing in Adobe Premiere Pro


Using Adobe Premiere Pro to create a composition combining your footage, a Hotcakes background, a Hotcakes Overlay, and a Hotcakes Image Matte.

	1. Start Premiere, and import your footage, and the Champagne AVI from the Wedding Essentials Volume 1



		2. Import the OvalFrame.mov found on the Wedding Essentials DVD 2 in the QT PNG folder.

		3. Import the OvalMatte still image found on Wedding Essentials Volume 1 DVD 2 Stills & Mattes folder.


	NOTE: Copy all Digital Hotcakes animations from CD or DVD to your video hard drive before importing them.


	4. Drag your video clip to Video Track 1. Drag the Champagne AVI to Video Track 2. Drag the OvalFrame image sequence to Video Track 3. Drag the OvalMatte.tga to Video Track 4

5. Select Video Track 2. Go to the Effects Tab> Video Effects>Keying> Track Matte Key and drag the effect to Video Track 2.

6. In the Effect Controls panel select Video 4 from the pulldown menu for the Matte. Composite Using Matte Alpha.

7. Turn off Video Track 4, the OvalMatte.

8. After rendering, the clip should look somthing like the image below. Of course your footage will be inside frame.
